Selected To Create Art In India with 30 International Artists

Melanie was delighted to receive an invitation to create artwork throughout January 2019, in Gujurat with 29 other international artists. As well as many tours of the beautiful and vibrant state, the artist created four artworks, which are currently touring India.
One of her mosaic creations on the residency was influenced from her findings in Gujurat, consisting of a bold fusion of Mackintosh and Indian kutch design.
The piece is framed with colours of the Indian flag with a tudor rose at its centre. The project was funded by the Indian government and Emagination designs.
Winner of the MK Community foundation arts bursary

Melanie has received a bursary from the Milton Keynes Community Foundation to create a new piece of work which will be exhibited at a show in Florence.
Using her photographs and drawings of scenes of Milton Keynes and our beloved barn owls, the artist will create a unique contemporary mosaic for the show MUSIWA.
The organisers contacted the artist after seeing her mosaic sited on the Grand Union Canal at Great Linford, Milton Keynes, commenting on her unique mosaic style with strong andemento, and were drawn to her depictions of nature.
